Q: Are all Silverton Residents automatically added to the Silverton Website's Email Distribution List?
A: No. You can sign up to be on the email distribution list on our website at www.silvertonhoa.com.

Q: What do the Declarations of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions say about parking in Silverton?
A: Article IX: No owners or residents of lots shall park vehicles of any type on any public street abutting any lot in the subdivision. Each lot shall have adequate driveway or off street parking areas on which to park all vehicles operated by residents of such lot and parked in the subdivision. All driveways and parking areas shall be paved or asphalt.
Please refrain from parking your personal vehicles in the street. We are fully aware of the fact that occasional on street parking is necessary to accommodate visitors and overnight guests, but homeowners should not be parking their vehicles in the street on a regular basis. If compliance with this covenant cannot be achieved through voluntary means, the Board and PPM will be forced to revisit the paid enforcement option.
If you do not currently have enough parking spaces for the vehicles that are used by residents of your property, please contact the Board or PPM, so that we can assist you with applying for ARC approval to add additional driveway parking spaces on your lot.
Additionally, the Silverton covenants prohibit the parking of commercial vehicles in the neighborhood. This does not mean that trade people cannot be at your home, rather that commercial vehicles should not be parked or stored on an ongoing basis on any lot or street in Silverton.

Q: Do you have to obtain approval from the ARC to stain your deck?
A: Yes, you do need to submit an ARC form to stain your deck.

Q: Can Silverton residents shoot/discharge firearms including air guns in the Cary City Limits?
A: No. You cannot fire any type of gun in the Town of Cary. According to the Town of Cary's Rules under Sec. 22-52. Discharging firearms or other guns:
(a) No person shall fire or otherwise discharge any type of firearms, air gun, gun or pistol, or any spring gun, pistol, or other similar device which impels with force any projectile, shot or pellet of any kind within the corporate limits, unless:
(1) Such firing or discharge is made pursuant to an approved recreational or instructional program supervised by competent authority acceptable to either the director of parks and recreation or the chief of police; or
(2) When lawfully used in defense of person or property or pursuant to lawful directions of law enforcement officers.
(b) Police officers performing official duties are exempt from the provisions of this section.
(c) It shall be unlawful to discharge a bow and arrow or crossbow within the town limits unless carried out under the following restrictions and conditions:
(1) If used for target shooting, the arrows must be discharged into an archery backstop made for the purpose of stopping arrows. A safety buffer of 1,000 feet in a straight line from the archer is required within the incorporated area of the Town of Cary .
(2) Must be 18 years of age or in the company of a parent or guardian.
(3) For a bow and arrow or crossbow to be considered under this Code, it must have a draw strength of nine pounds or more. Anything less would be a toy and not considered under this Code.

Q: Is the Silverton Lake available for use by the Silverton HOA Residents?
A: SilverLake is a different neighborhood that is not part of the Silverton HOA. The Lake is part of this neighborhood, therefore is not available to be used by Silverton HOA residents. The Silverton HOA includes SilverOaks, SilverCliff, SilverRock, SilverCrest, SilverRidge, and the Windbrooke Townhomes. SilverCreek which borders SilverOaks and SilverLake which is across from the lake are not part of the Silverton HOA. Q: Do the HOA membership dues cover membership at the Rover Rock Swim Club?

Q: What should I do if I see a fox or coyote?
A: The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission offers tips for co-existing with wildlife, including foxes, coyotes, Canada geese, beavers, black bears, and deer.
In the case of rabies, the Town of Cary states…. If you see an animal that you believe may be rabid, call to report the location of the animal. Do not try to touch or capture the animal because it may attempt to bite you. Animals with rabies usually show some type of behavioral change. They can be aggressive and excited or depressed and lethargic. They may be uncoordinated and unfocused on the presence of humans around them. In Cary, the most common types of wildlife which may carry the rabies virus are raccoons, foxes and bats.”
